A White Christmas

A White Christmas

Holiday Dinner Decorations

The holidays are here! If you are looking for a little dinner table inspiration, here are some decoration ideas for the holidays. I went with a white theme this year. I covered the table in a white tablecloth and added a white and silver table runner along with silver chargers. On the table, I added my favorite sparkly Christmas tree decorations and my silver reindeers. I added some super fun plate decorations and ornaments to my table. You can add a little color with some greenery (pro tip: I used some greenery from my backyard). Also, make your night shine by adding some candles throughout your table. You can add them to the table, your windowsill, or anywhere else that could use a little light. They are a classy and simple way to add to your table decor. Fun hors-d'oeuvres and drinks will make your night extra special. Here are just a few ideas. Have fun! Merry Christmas!

A Simply Red Christmas

A Simply Red Christmas

Here are a few photos of my red Christmas Holiday decor. I adorned my mantle with red and gold ornaments and added a pine garland with lights. On the mantle, I added a few of the Christmas trees that I have collected over the years and added a homemade wreath. Picked up this darling flocked Christmas tree from Michaels and I decorated it with red ribbon and ornaments. Next to the tree, I placed my two favorite Christmas snowmen. Also, I hung my favorite embroidered and beaded stocking. These are just a few ideas and what I did with my holiday decor. I hope you have fun decorating your homes this holiday season! Merry Christmas!

Quick and Simple Dinner Party Ideas

Quick and Simple Dinner Party Ideas that Will Make Your Guests Think You Are a Professional

keep it simple

It seems that every time a big dinner party rolls around whether it's a a birthday, a holiday, or just for fun, you find yourself feeling pretty overwhelmed. I agree! Dinner parties can be stressful, but they don't have to be. Here are a few quick and easy tips that will make your dinner parties stunning and easy at the same time.

Tip #1 - the decorations

I know that you might not know where to start your table decorations, but don't worry. A few days ago I planned a small Christmas Eve dinner party. For this party, I only used a table runner, candles holders. greenery, burlap placemats, two reindeers, and some small silver ornaments. I placed the table runner across the table and set up the burlap placements. Honestly, table runners and placemats are super easy to find. I purchased mine at my local Home Goods. For the center of the table, I arranged some small silver candles and surrounded them with greenery.  You definitely need to invest in candles. They can add flair and elegance to pretty much any dinner party. The best part is that candle holders are reusable which means you can use them at all of your future dinner parties too, making them a great investment. Another one of my favorite tips is the greenery. I always use greenery from the plants I have growing in my backyard. Its super easy and you don't have to buy a thing. Just go outside and find some nice and green, leafy branches. They are the perfect addition to your dinner party. Not only do they look lovely, but they also add a nice earthy pop of color to your table décor. To finish up, I usually add a few other decorations. For this party I added two silver reindeer and arranged some ornaments across the table. For these decorations you add as finishing touches, they can really be whatever you want. As a reminder, you can always play decorations off of the holiday or event that you are celebrating.  For this party in particular, you could also add some small Christmas trees.

Tip #2 - the appetizers

Do you want to seem like a professional host or hostess? Well, the best way to start is by making pretty and delicious appetizers. For this party, I made a charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, and fruits. I arranged my ingredients on a wooden chutney board. This board had different types of cheeses, peppered salami, prosciutto, tomatoes, grapes, crackers, slices of bread, chocolate covered pretzels raspberries, blackberries, and nuts. I also added some rosemary around the edges and in the center for a nice pop of color. Honestly, for your board you can pretty much add whatever you want, but I wanted to give you a few ideas. Also, presentation is everything, so try to arrange your desired ingredients in a creative way. I made some salami roses for my board, which is a fun and easy way to make your board look fancy and creative.

final notes

I am honestly so excited to share these tips with you! I hope they are helpful the next time you plan any sort of party or gathering. Here are some pictures of what I did to give you some ideas....

Disney Themed Baby Shower Idea

baby showers

"Another Mouse in the House"

If you love Disney, then you'll love this Mickey Mouse themed baby shower idea.  Baby showers are an exciting event, so we used green, blue, and yellow along with the typical red and black of Mickey.  The cake we chose was vanilla.  It was decorated with Mickey and had a big red bow on top.  Around the base it said, in fondant letters, "Another Mouse in the House."  The final touch to the Mickey themed cake was yellow, blue, and green stars on top.  The cupcakes we had at the shower were vanilla with white frosting and a red bow and red sprinkles.  You can decorate your tables with Mickey cut outs and balloons.

This is a super cute and easy Baby shower idea.  Have fun with your decorations and be creative!

Refreshing Summer Coconut Smoothie Recipe

Refreshing Summer Coconut  Smoothie Recipe

Everyone loves to cool off in the summer with a fun drink. This coconut shell smoothie is a great drink for summer parties. It can be enjoyed by both adults and kids. The best part is it’s really simple and healthy.

What You'll need

  • 2 Coconuts
  • 1/2 cup Coconut water
  • 4 frozen banana
  • 12 frozen strawberries
  • Half of a frozen pineapple
  • 4 fresh strawberries
  • 1 fresh banana
  • 4 roses
  • 4 paper straws

Directions

This recipe makes 4 Coconut Drinks. Make a hole and drain the coconut water, then split the coconut.  To make the smoothie combine the 4 frozen banana, 12 frozen strawberries, half of a frozen pineapple, and 1/2 cup of coconut water in a blender.  Personally, I prefer to use the Ninja Professional Blender, but any blender will do.  Next, cut your fresh banana and strawberries into pieces, which will be used to garnish the smoothie. Then, pour your smoothie into the coconut, and garnish with fruit. I also used roses picked from my garden to garnish.  Then, add a straw and ENJOY!

I hope you enjoy this fun and creative Summer drink idea.  I loved making these, and I know you will too!
